The Department of Transport survey has now closed. The survey was held to inform a review of aquatic use of south metropolitan waters (Fremantle to Port Kennedy).
Proposal 1 – backed by the Fremantle Sailing Club and others – would excise the northern 120m of the Dog Beach south of the FSC for use as a boat access zone, including access for motorised and sailing vessels, including jetskis, tenders and RIBs (zodiacs) over a 30m stretch directly in front of the new stairs at the northern end of the dog beach adjacent to the FSC.
This access presents grave safety and health risks to swimmers and beach users, including children, the elderly, people with physical disabilities, and our dogs.
Save Freo Beaches calls for a boat exclusion zone for ALL of South Beach, including the community’s precious Dog Beach.
We want GROYNE to GROYNE, swimmers only! No boats, No jet skis, No accidents!
